Eyeglasses Help
Routine eye exams and glasses or contact lenses are not necessarily included in health insurance coverage. If you are insured, check your Summary of Benefits and Coverage to figure out whether it's a part of your plan.
FYI - NJ FamilyCare does cover medically necessary eye exams and prescription glasses.
ReSpectacle. Provides access to gently used eyeglasses across a wide array of styles and prescriptions for a low cost Tere is a $5 processing feee and additional donations are encouraged if possible.
- Click "Browse" then enter your prescription given to you by your eye specialist. Review the glasses that appear. The percentile match in the right column estimates how closely the glasses match your prescription (green indicates a close match).
- Select a pair with a high match percentile that you like and click on "Get these ReSpectacles!".
- Fill out the required information including name and mailing address, then click "Order my ReSpectacles!".
- Input payment information for shipping/handling.
- The glasses will be shipped to you in about 7-10 business days.

New Eyes. Program provides basic single or lined bifocal lenses at no cost. Applications can be submitted by a social service or health advocacy representative. Individual must have a current (within 24 months) prescription.
